Bidaya lets you export any generated deliverable as a polished Word document that matches your firm's branding. This article explains how exporting works, how to configure your template, and what to do if something looks off.
How Export Works
Open the Project and navigate to Deliverables.
Click into the deliverable you want to export.
Click the Export button at the top right.
Choose Polished to apply your template in detail, or Fast for a quick download
There are two ways to get content out of Bidaya:
Fast export — Bidaya programmatically creates a new Word document with your firm's fonts, colours, and page layout.
Polished export — Bidaya uses a previous template as a starting point, and surgically updates it with the new content to produce a client-ready proposal.
Polished exports are generated asynchronously and will be emailed to you when ready depending on the size of the document and current load.
Setting Up Your Template
Your polished export will only match your brand if you upload a Document Template in the Knowledge Library.
Go to Knowledge Library → Organization Profile.
Under Document Template, upload a
.docxfile that contains your desired styling — fonts, heading styles, cover page, page numbers, footers, etc.Save your changes.
All future polished exports will inherit formatting from this template. If you update the template, only exports generated after the update will use the new styling.
Troubleshooting
The exported document doesn't match my template
This usually happens when:
No Document Template is uploaded in the Knowledge Library, or
The template was uploaded after the export was generated.
Confirm your template is in place under Knowledge Library → Organization Profile → Document Template, then re-run the polished export. If the exported document still falls back to default formatting, reach out via the chat widget and include the Project name so the team can investigate.
My polished export never arrived
Polished exports typically complete within a few minutes. If it's been longer:
Check your email (including Spam/Junk) — some firms' filters block automated attachments.
Return to the Deliverable — completed exports can also be downloaded directly from the portal.
Try again. If the second attempt also fails, contact support with the Project name and approximate time of the request.
